Staying active and engaged is at the core of our ethos!  The communal rooms, breakout spaces and gardens provide opportunities for social engagement and we work with our residents to ensure that the wide range of activities meet their needs and interests.

There is something for everyone.  We particularly emphasise activities which promote, physical, cognitive, spiritual and social wellbeing.

We understand that providing a range of interesting, creative and fun activities can make a huge difference to our residents sense of happiness and wellbeing.

Our exciting social calendar reflects a broad range of activities and events that is sure to interest our residents.  Brídhaven is a home where our residents can enjoy their lives to the full, and also integrate within the local community.

Celine O’Shea manages the social care programme at Brídhaven, along with her dedicated team of staff.  Activities range from art classes to exercise sessions, gardening, craft groups, live music & entertainment, annual extravaganza parties, bus outings and much more.  Please also view our monthly newsletter at the end of this section.

The beautifully landscaped Clyda garden, along with the newly developed Blackwater garden with its raised beds & planters provides a tranquil outdoor retreat where residents can experience the physical & psychological benefits of being outdoors, sitting and chatting in the sunshine, watching nature, reading, walking and much more.  Our recent pet farm visit in the Clyda garden was so well received.

From infancy, food and dining experiences are at the core of a rich set of fundamental sensory and emotional memories about our world (Ronch, 2009)

We appreciate that mealtimes are often the highlight of our day. Don’t we often celebrate memorable occasions with a meal?  All food is cooked fresh daily onsite by our experienced qualified chefs and we also pride ourselves for our freshly baked pastries.

As well as creating truly delicious dishes, we fully understand the social significance of the dining experience for our residents and we take the greatest pride in ensuring the very best.  Our chef is personally driven by a passion for fresh and healthy food, preferring seasonal and local produce.
