Award Winning Infection Control
Brídhaven have received an award from the HSE for the 3rd highest influenza vaccination uptake among healthcare workers in a long term care setting (>100 patients) for the 2021/2022 influenza season in Ireland.
Our priority at Brídhaven is the safety of our residents and staff. We ensure that all of our team are fully trained in infection prevention and control measures and have easy access to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Our ability to manage the Houses within Brídhaven as distinct and discrete living areas helps us to reduce the number of contacts across residents and staff. We have provided additional changing rooms and canteens to ensure social distancing and reduce crossover of staff.
Our team are well trained in infection prevention and control measures. We are in regular contact with the HSE, HIQA, and other healthcare experts. We provide continuous training on infection prevention and control for our team. Temperature and symptom checks are carried out twice daily and our vaccination uptake has been very high.
We have always maintained excellent PPE supplies and our team wear PPE as appropriate. We have meticulous house keeping cleaning procedures in place. Hand hygiene stations are positioned conveniently throughout Brídhaven, and FFP2 masks are readily available for staff and visitors alike.
Adrienn Zagyva is our Infection Control Nurse Specialist, ensuring all guidelines, processes and polices are adhered to, minimising risk to our residents.
