All levels of need and dependencies are welcome in Brídhaven including those who suffer from dementia. Our nursing and care staff are always ready and available to support our residents and their families.
We provide short term, convalescent and respite care and we are approved by The VHI, Quinn Healthcare, Aviva Health and St. Paul’s Garda Medical Aid Society. We receive residents from all the of the Cork hospitals for respite and convalescence care and we are very experienced in dealing with both at Brídhaven.
The Person In Charge of Bridhaven Nursing Home is Anita Turner. Anita is ably assisted by a large team of Clinical Nurse Managers, Nurses, a Chartered Physiotherapist as well as a large team of Care Assistants.
Each resident has their own individualised care plan which they and/or their representative are encouraged to participate in. Care plans reflect both the short term and long-term needs of the residents. Care plans commence on admission and are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
We employ our own chartered physiotherapist on a full time basis. Physiotherapy is available to all residents and is an essential element in their recovery and overall well being. Our physiotherapist provides a full range of services such as chest physiotherapy, ultrasound, pain relief, balance training and falls prevention. The physiotherapist works in conjunction with the nursing staff. The cost of any physiotherapy required is included in the nursing home weekly fees.
Having our own Chartered Physiotherapist has been a great addition to the team in Brídhaven, not only for residents who are convalescing but also for long-term residents. We have our own dedicated physiotherapy room which is equipped with the most up to date equipment including parallel bars, ultrasound, tens machine and other essential items of exercise equipment.
