Acquired Brain Injuries(ABI)

Brídhaven Nursing Home is delighted to be able to provide a full suite of services and facilities for those with Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI).   At Brídhaven a number of our residents have an Acquired Brain Injury, many of whom are relatively young.  The age range of our residents with ABI is between 39 and 65.

The management and staff at Brídhaven have developed close ties with Headway (www.headway.ie) who provide services for people with Acquired Brain Injuries. Headway regularly facilitates shopping excursions and outings for coffee for residents with A.B.I. Headway staff liaise closely with the Person In Charge at Brídhaven regarding the progress that residents are making as well as for their future plans.

Residents with A.B.I. are also facilitated by The Irish Wheelchair Association who have a day activity centre in Mallow.
